SUMMARY:What PCA and clustering reveal about human migration\, longevity an
	d breast cancer
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Gyan Bhanot\, Rutgers University\nHosted by: Bennett
	Goldberg\nPoster: http://physics.bu.edu/internal//posters/2007_Fall/01_Bhan
ot.pdf\n\nPart of the Physics Department Colloquia Series.\n\nThe sequencin
g of genomes has created a new opportunity for physicists\, chemists\, math
ematicians\, statisticians\, computer scientists and engineers to help make
new discoveries in the biological sciences. In this talk\, I will describe
how two simple techniques\, principal component analysis (PCA) and consens
us ensemble clustering\, give new insights into problems in population gene
	tics\, cancer and longevity.
