SUMMARY:Getting over the top
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Ayana Holloway\, Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory\n\nPart
	 of the HET Seminar Series.\n\nAbstract:  When the Large Hadron Collider be
	gins colliding protons at 14 TeV next year it will produce a wealth of top 
	quarks that decay within the ATLAS detector\, allowing us to make precise m
	easurements of many top properties predicted by the Standard Model.   We ea
	gerly anticipate that the collider will also produce more exotic events whi
	ch can help us unravel the questions that this model leaves unanswered.  I 
	will discuss why understanding the top events in ATLAS data is an important
	 prerequisite to seeing beyond the SM in many scenarios\, and explain how i
	mportant measurements using top quarks are linked to searches for new inter
	actions.
