Abstract: Soft-matter materials, such as complex fluids, are often dominated by mesoscopic fluctuations, which make description of very different systems universal and thus relatively simple. In this presentation, I explain how mesoscopic fluctuations affect the nature of phase transitions in soft matter and fundamentally change thermodynamics of curved interfaces.
