Abstract: Can we design, build and operate nanometer-scale logic circuits that perform conventional binary computation using only the spin degree of freedom? I will review progress towards this goal, highlighting the development of spin excitation spectroscopy to measure g-values, exchange energies, anisotropy energies and spin configurations of assemblies of magnetic atoms on surfaces.
