Abstract: As interconnected, flexible systems they are, biological systems in mesoscale manifest interesting cooperative dynamics under certain barriers, confined environments, external fields and noises. Its cooperative dynamics is important, no only in understanding how a biological system self-organizes by manipulating its flexible degrees of freedom, but also in a multitude of biotechnological applications. I will discuss polymer translocation through a membrane and crossing over a potential barrier. If time permits, I will briefly talk about other topics we recently studied, membrane fusion and bubble formation in DNA.
