The General High School Honors Program and
The Research Internship Program in Science and Engineering

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Requirements:

  1. ELIGIBILITY: Students must be at least 16 years of age by the start of the program (7/3/02), and should be between their junior and senior year of high school.

  2. APPLICATION FORM: Complete the application form found in the High School Honors Brochure, or print out the table below. Click HERE if you want a brochure sent to you by mail.


  3. PERSONAL STATEMENT: Submit a separate one-page (650-850 word) personal statement describing your accomplishments, background, extracurricular activities, and what you wish to gain by attending the General Honors Program or the Research Internship Program. If you are applying for the Research Internship Program, please be sure to describe any science-related activities in which you have participated.


  4. RECOMMENDATION LETTERS: 
    General Honors Program: TWO letters of recommendation from teachers and/or guidance counselors are required.
    Research Internship Program: THREE letters of recommendation, including at least two from a science or math teacher, are required.

  5. PSAT/SAT SCORES:
    A copy of your most recent PSAT or SAT scores.


  6. HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS:
    An OFFICIAL copy of your high school transcript, listing your Fall 2001grades or later.
